I don't think the end dish is important, just that he has made the effort to help out, and do something nice or his woman!
My husband cooks for me on occasion, and most of the time it is simple, good food.
I always get a cooked breakfast on a Sunday morning!
The effort impresses me more. Well done to all the guys that help out!

it impresses me a lot. I mean if a man can't cook it's okay and quite normal (at least he won't tell me, that I am the bad cook), but he can and does it really good, it's a plus. (until he starts comparing me to him)

It impresses me, but a sense of humor impresses me more. I'd rather have the funny guy that can't boil water than the gourmet chef that can't make me laugh.

absolutely impressive as long as he is smooth about it and does not brag too much.

I think we get the impression when a guy cooks that if it should ever be that we get sick or just have a hard day he will whip us up something special.

I even get happy if a guy makes me an awesome sandwich : )

My late Husband was a fantastic cook! Which came in handy on the nights I had to work and he had to get supper for the kids.

yes, it would remove a heavy load on the women, espically if they live togather and tend to cook at home. and it would be a plus if he enjoys washing the dishes after cooking
