1-2 days, depending on where the central distribution station is located!

It would take about 15 minutes, if you just drove over and put it in their mail box!!!!!!!

If only the fifteen minute drive were involved, of course it would take fifteen minutes. However, that's not the way that postal items are handled. They are picked up and all hauled to a central major post office with automated handling equipment which sorts and distributes mail items according to ZIP code. Then they're returned to the local postal office for distribution. Seems dumb, I know, but it actually saves on man hours and makes the mail system more efficient.

Of course, if that automated machinery fouls up, which it does, that piece of mail may erroneously go as far as several states away before it eventually makes its way back to whee it belongs. Thus, the occasional ten day delivery wait for what seems like a rather simple journey.

1 or 2 days should be enough. It depends on what time you give your outgoing mail to them.

But then again your talking about the postal service.

It took 3 weeks to send something to my mother-in-law recently who only lives an hour away.

Where I am, it's takes 1 business day. If there is a holiday or a weekend involved, add another day.
