to america. I know GW screwed up by not taking up this issue but he screwed up lots of ways. Like giving up on reforming social security, so please answer the question without that neocon bs. I am a conservative but disagree with GW.

Because liberals do not believe in the sovereignty of the USA. They think anyone should be allowed to enter our country. Listen to their slogans, "we are all immigrants", "we took the land from Indians", blah blah blah. These are the people who side with America's enemies in times of war.

As for the business part, these people are also against capitalism and free market economies. These people are collectivists. Private ownership is an evil concept to them. And for god saves don't ever mention the word "corporation" around them.

I think they have the security they need. They took precautions I am sure. Risk factors vary from country to country, state to state, neighborhood to neighborhood. We usually can identify security risks. Seems most of the time we take care of them in some way-locks on our doors, our cars, fences, alarms and so forth. . I don't think anything is risk free but safety precautions do detour crimes. , Our personal security is enhanced considerably when we take precautions. In an effort to get rich quickly, votes and other selfish causes many people take big risks with others on this border issue. To not secure the boarders is" foolish." We are not prepared for what opening all the borders to all at this time would cause . Or for letting these smaller opening continue much longer. We have seen some of the damage already. We are just not ready. Do people leave their doors locked but all their windows wide open ?? How safe is that??

Because many liberals have no testicular fortitude. They want people of all colors and creeds to hold hands under a rainbow, so kicking out illegals doesn't fit into that plan.

I'm actually a pretty liberal person on most social issues, but I don't see why illegal immigration isn't treated like any other crime. I don't mind if every one of them is deported, they broke the law plain and simple. Also there are plenty of others waiting in line to immigrate legally. I don't like the idea of building a fence though, I'd prefer some other method of improving border security.

For me, it is just that I don't want to start building walls...

Do we really want to live in Prison-nation?

I am all for being a little more "secure" with the folks who come in... but I don't want that to translate to my inability to "get out" if I choose... which you know could happen if you paid attention in History class...

I also think that American business owners should step up and keep jobs in America even if it costs them a little bit more.
American capitalists have been very weasel-like over the years.

I have compassion for wannabe immigrants... most of their homelands suck... and that's mostly because of us!
But that doesn't mean that I don't want my job either...
So it's really tough - to be compassionate and make lady liberty proud while at the same time defending the law and order of things.

The candidates on both sides have a lot of fat to chew on this one!

That's my "liberal" answer.

I believe the the priority here is to plug the holes on our border (ie Build a wall, not a fence, increase the number of BP agents working the border and use high tech means to control the border) before we can even begin to deal with the illegals already inside.

Is akin to being in a life boat with a hole in the bottom; you need to plug the hole before you even try to get the water out; is simple, really:

1) Secure the border
2) Enforce current immigration laws
3) Eliminate "Sanctuary Cities"
4) Deport all illegal immigrants
5) Eliminate the "Anchor Baby" clause
6) Promote LEGAL immigration.

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out.

As a dem I am not against securing our borders. It has to recognized that this is not an issue of crime but of economics.

The reality is that if we really wanted illegals out they would not be here...This is all about money and the economy. Cheap labor is good...always has been and always will be.
Bush and his backers understand that and that is why the borders remain noteably unsecured 7 years into his administration even though a terrorist can waltz right over and do unspeakable harm to us.

I like eight of Jacob's nine points. I disagree with number 8. That should be decided by the market. not by law. Broadcast radio and television is about selling advertising. Broadcasters should be able to run whatever programming they want to create a market for those advertisers.

Your diction and spelling are poor, so I don't quite understand your exact point. I think you're addressing the immigration issue, so I'll respond that. Many of the small (and not so small) business owners and private citizens who knowingly hire illegal immigrants (to save on labor costs, of course) are Republicans. This is about money, not liberal vs. conservative ideologies. Wake up.

I despise republicans and will never ever vote for one. I think the iraq occupation is pure folly and a waste of our soldiers lives and money. I think we need some form of health care reform to make it more affordable to all americans. I think what has happened to the iraqi people is a crime against humanity. I am also against illegal immigration, and against any and all guest worker programs, and think we need to secure the border and fine those who hire illegals out of business and some jail time to boot. (I wonder what your talking points say about how to deal with someone like me...lol)

Both parties dont want secured borders.
Slave labor worked with blacks back then and it works with Mexicans now.
Why pay an American $8 hr. when you can get someone to work for $2 hr.
