When were they cleared, I heard the PJ were making a formal request to interrogate the Tapas 7. Please provide link.
I haven't even heard that the results were inconclusive, Other than from Clarence (verbal diarhrea) Mitchell. The sources at the DNA lab just said the meeting was 'routine' That could mean anything.

THEY HAVE NOT BEEN CLEARED !! The police are to put in a request to interview the rest of the party that were there on the day due to inconsistencies in their stories.
The words Cleared and inconclusive DNA evidence seem to be coming from the news speel given out by Clarence the spokesman for the McCanns. As the police have only literally returned to Portugal and no official word has actually been given all this is yet again based on speculation.
They have not yet been cleared and it may be some time before that happens because the Portugeuse legal system operates in such a different way, there is accusations that it is not being operated correctly how unless you are a member of the police do you know whats going on. We don't , you don't and no one does.
As to joining in the search I should think everyone who is aware of Madelaine has her in their mind and are more aware of the children around them. I think we have to be very realistic here she probably isn't coming home and she may never even be found. We have seen far to many of this type of case before.
People should also keep in mind some of the hundreds of other children who go missing every day and who never even get mentioned in the media because their parents don't have the rich and famous assisting them, give them five minutes of your thoughts today if you do nothing else.

"Proper investigation" has been carried out already - the Portuguese police have pursued other lines of enquiry, as well (why is Murat still arguido, if the PJ only looked at the McCanns?). And any police force who did not even investigate the possibility of the parents being involved in a case of this nature would be criminally negligent. Like it or not, in a large proportion of cases where people are murdered or go missing, someone close to them is responsible, so it is common international practice to investigate and eliminate the family. That IS "proper investigation". It really irritates me when people suggest that the PJ are incompetent or monsters for even considering the possibility that the McCanns were to blame.
While it does seem that the Portuguese police made mistakes, particularly at an early stage of the investigation, I think we Brits are currently living in too fragile a glass house to start throwing stones about "miscarriages of justice" and "incompetent police forces", after the Menezes shooting and the revelation of the Stefan Kiszko and Colin Stagg miscarriages of justice (unlike poor Jean Charles and Kiszko, the McCanns have never had to spend time in prison or die for a crime they did not commit).
I think the real victims of injustice here are the thousands of other Portuguese victims of crime who are not receiving enough police attention, as a disproportionate amount of Portuguese police time and resources is being channelled into one case, as the result of media pressure.

But they HAVEN'T been cleared, the Portuguese police have just asked (yesterday while over here in Leicester to discuss the fornesic findings made there and in Birmingham) to be able to question them again, as far as the Portuguese go, the parents are still the main suspects.

I think you are jumping the gun a bit here - the BBC announced last night that after receiving more DNA evidence, the Portuguese wish to interview the McCanns and the tapas 9 again. Their interview will be done in the UK by British police but in the presence of Portuguese police. There has been a miscarriage of justice but it is against Maddie by her neglectful parents.

No clearance yet.
The Portuguese Prosecutor refused a request by the the police to interview Gerry and Kate because they could no longer provide any additional evidence against them.
He however granted permission to interview the others in the
UK.

They haven't been cleared, but Robert Murat's girlfriend certainly has, and they are about to be requestioned, along with their friends: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/worldnews.html?in_article_id=497948&in_page_id=1811 (the bit about Robert Murat's girlfriend is squashed into the last two lines, and I wonder if they will offer her an apology?) I just hope and pray that we find out what happened to that poor little girl.

they havn't been cleared though. The tests came back inconclusive which means it could be either or....
The McCanns are still suspects though and I believe the real miscarraige of justice is that they are still getting away with what has happened
