Rarely, I mostly laugh in my mind (if that makes sense to u) or I smile if something is funny while on the computer. But I hardly ever Laugh out loud. I think this goes for alot of people. Interesting question though, I was thinking about the same thing the other day>

Sometimes I really do if someone sends me something funny, or I'm having a conversation with someone & I genuinely laugh. Other times I use it to convey the fact that I'm joking, like in an email - "oh sure - LOL!" Just to try & make clear the nuances you use in person, ya know?

I might smile, but not laugh.
Alot of the time 'lol' is just something to say.
For example, on msn messenger:
1: hey
2: hey whats up
1: nm.. Im just hungry
2: lol!
if someone said 'Im just hungry' in real life, you wouldn't laugh out loud.

no I really don't I kind of laugh to myself and smile, the self walks in and wants to knew what was so funny and then she makes a girl sound and leaves the room. you ask! LOL

Sometimes, but it's usually bc I have nothing better to say, I don't know what I should say, or bc I'm annoyed or don't really want to talk to the person. Usually, when I laugh, I say "hahahahaha".
