Don't go swimming unless you're wearing either a tampon or a menstrual cup, such as the DivaCup. The water will not stop your flow in the water - that is completely a myth. Ask your mom if you can borrow a tampon just for the swim party only or if she won't let you, borrow one from your friends. Don't let your period stop you from doing what you want to do - this situation calls for a tampon! By the way, if your mom decides to let you use them for the swim party I recommend buying Playtex Slimfits because they're made for beginners. The tampon/applicater itself is about the width of your pinky finger so they'll be easier for you to insert! Best of luck!

Well, if it's late in your period and your flow is just a bit of brown spots, then you should be fine.
Of course, don't wear a white or yellow bathing suit. Something black or navy blue would be much, much better.
I mean, it's a pool, not the ocean, it's not like sharks are going to sniff a trace of blood.
Also, tell your mom that toxic shock syndrome (probably why she doesn't want you to use them) has a pretty low risk now-a-days. My mom told me horror stories of ones back in the 70's that were filled with all sorts of absorbant, TSS causing crap, so that's probably why your mom didn't wear them.

my wife agreed with your mother oh to a point. it is more responsibility and person hyg, then age. She said you will not be the only girl on the outside of the pool. 25% of all females have their period at the same time, it doesn't seem like you should be the only one if their all a lot of girls there.
It's to cold, I'm feeling a little sick today, or a lot of others will work for you just fine. And don't think all of the boy's will be in the pool, you can talk to them while the others get wet! LOL

Okay darl, I've been in the exact same situation as you are now. I would wait until tomorrow and see how heavy the flow of your period is & decide then. How long have you had your period this particular time? If it's around the 5th or 6th day, you should be fine by tomorrow, if it's not.. but slowing down you'd have to wait and see.
When in the pool, the water creates a 'plug' so that no blood will leak, it's the same as taking a bath while you have your period... it's just that when you get out, you don't want all the blood to come out suddenly...
Anyway, best of luck hon x

DO NOT swim if you will not wear a tampon. You WILL bleed into the water, though it only LOOKS like it has slowed down or stopped, its actually because the water is dispersing it. You will still bleed into the water.
And don't use a pad, it'll be like a diaper and soak up the water.

That's silly that your mom won't let you wear a tampon.
If you have some light blood on your underwear, don't swim unless you have a tampon. If there's only some blood on the toilet paper when you wipe yourself but it doesn't actually drip then you're fine swimming. I went swimming on the day I got my first period because it only showed up when I wiped.
tampons don't hurt at all when you're wet too. Infact, I got used to them really fast and prefer to wear them even out of the water...like at school at stuff. Pads are too annoying.

You absolutely do NOT swim unless you wear a tampon. It would be totally unfair to the other swimmers to possibly expose them to your body fluids. Backyard pools are not always reliably maintained and sanitary as it is. Talk to mom, don't go to the party, go and don't swim, whichever, but don't pee, poop, spit, throw up, or bleed in the pool.

Water polo is a ton of exciting and that i prefer to propose it! on account that treading water is seventy 5% of water polo, you have already got a stable head initiate. you're able to artwork on catching and throwing the ball nonetheless. be sure you are able to palm a water polo ball and swim with the ball in one hand. I you artwork tirelessly on those issues, water polo would be very exciting for you and you're able to desire to get to be relatively stable.
