i can think of numerous situations:
- the person doesn't love you back..
- the person is married & for obvious reasons you can't do much about your feelings..
- the person plays around with your feelings & uses your heart like a toy...
- or the person has moved on & found somebody else..

Although it's cliche to say so, love doesn't hurt, and love is not a battlefield. You're confusing love with something else -- perhaps jealousy, perhaps grief, but not love. Love is something wholly different than something that hurts.

well baby...that's the age old question.. i guess because there will always be joy with pain and good with bad...can't hav one without the other. to the capacity you have to love, you have the same capacity to feel pain.
