how do you solve for x in the equation 10^x = 0.1

Multiply both sides by 10^2 = 100
10^x * 10^2 = 10
10^(x+2) = 10^1
equate exponents.
x+2 = 1
x = -1

Take log base 10 of both sides:-
x = log (0.1)
x = - 1

10^x=0.1
but 0.1 = 1/10 =10^(-1)
so 10^x=10^(-1)
so x = -1

you have to make one side look like the other by making the 0.1 change into 10^-1 and then you find out the value of x =-1
10^x=0.1
10^x=10^-1
so x=-1
