First, you want to determine what certifications are required by the Australian authorities for you to be able to work in these fields upon returning to Australia.

For Pharmacy, check out the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (www.aacp.org).

The study of dentistry in the U.S. is considered a professional degree program which would require that the student already have an undergraduate degree and then attend dentistry school. Check out the American Dental Association site to see a list of programs and certification requirements.

Also, go visit the EducationUSA adviser closest to you to get more information and guidance on applying to schools and scholarship options.

International students do not qualify for any federal and state financial aid. That is the vast majority of financial aid. Many scholarships require you to be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S. Pharmacy and dentistry are not undergraduate programs. Dentistry almost always require a bachelors, and pharmacy some require a bachelors and others do not, but almost all require at least 2 years of undergrad. Many of those programs do not accept international students at all.

Baylor's tuition is about $20,000 which is relatively cheap. American university of Antigua and Ross seem to have some scholarship and funding opportunities. University of Central Florida seemed to have paid full tuition for its students; however, I'm sure they are biased against international students. Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University has given students free tuition in the past but is most likely highly competitive and again biased against international student. If I were you, I'd apply for an MD-PhD combined program which highly subsidizes its participants. You'd have to have stellar grades again and would need to research the acceptance rate of international students into their program which perhaps your best bet. If you are thinking of living in the US after your training and are able to receive funding, You'd be able to pay a great portion of it back over time after residency and applying for citizenship. Good Luck!
