Pictus are shoaling fish, so ideally, you should have a group of at least 5, but that isn't really conducive to a 30 gallon tank... Try 3 or 4 Pictus and a school (7) of Tiger Barbs. Just be sure to avoid the Betta (Tiger Barbs, Pictus, and Angels will attack its fins), shrimp (the Pictus will happily eat them), and the crayfish (they can easily catch, injure, or kill fish as they rest on the bottom). In a 30 gallon you could probably add another pictus. Do to the size of tank I would go with 6-8 gold or cherry barbs instead of the tigers.

i think a small school of tiger barbs would keep your options open later for some more types of bars or danios and such. Any of these fish would be fine in this set up, and you would have room to add more. If it were my tank I would go with the schooling fish as they are much more active and joyful to watch chase each other. I would steer away from the shrimp though, your catfish may make them dinner.
