(1988 ford aerostar)
last summer i had problems and i just bypassed my heater core for the heck of it.. problem is.. i forgot which hoses go where... i think i might have them hooked up backwards.

..do i hook the hose from the water pump to the top or the bottom connector running from the core?

& do i hook the hose from the intake to the bottom or the top?

much thanks.

ALSO! ..just incase i don't have them backwards.. how can i tell if it's just completely gone?

Pull the thermostat out first, replace the housing & hose the place the thermostat replaced into, and stick the backyard hose interior the radiator hose. additionally, there is two some million" hoses that furnish the heater center. Pop considered one of them unfastened and hose that, 2. once you hose the heater center, some automobiles have little valves close to to the hearth wall that closes the water circulate off to the heater center, while the heater is became off. If the heater hose does not take the backyard hose, verify for a kind of valves..

If you still have the old hoses, they should be formed to fit perfectly from one end to the other, and it just wouldn't look right if you put one of them in the wrong spot. I suggest you find a repair manual on your car, which you can most likely look up the problem online, and it will tell you which hose goes where and may even have a picture to describe it. here is a website with info on your van.

If both sides are the same size it won't make much differince.
By what do you mean by gone ? leaking or stopped up. if stopped up the reverse hook up may loosen whatever is stopping it .but that will be back into the cooling system.

IF THE THE CORE OUTLETS ARE UP AND DOWN IT DOES NOT MATTER,IF LEFT TO RIGHT WATER PUMP FIRST. IF ITS BAD IT WILL LEAK OR BE BLOCKED ,WHEN ITS BLOCKED ONE THE HOSES WILL BE HOT NOT THE OTHER OBVIOUSLY NO CIRCULATION
