First run an online scan at http://housecall.trendmicro.com

Then check out: Avast: http://www.avast.com

You also need spyware protection:

Spyware blaster will help keep it off at: http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareb...

Also Spybot Search & Destory and Ad-Aware. Which will scan and get rid of any nasties. Also Spybot has a Immunize feature to help keep spyware from getting on your pc as well.

Spybot Search & Destroy: http://www.spybot.info/

Ad-Aware: http://www.lavasoftusa.com

Ditch Internet Explorer. It's so damn leaky and unsafe. Switch to firefox. I haven't had an infection since: http://www.getfirefox.com

Don't forget to check out the cool add-ons.

Google in "Why Internet Explorer is unsafe" or "Internet Explorer vs Firefox"

Don't use the firewall built in Windows. You can check out

Zone Alarm: http://www.zonealarm.com

All of this is 100% free. So enjoy!
