hi, I'm really having trouble making sketches of planes. I know how to graph an equation of a plane with 2 variables in R^3. ex. y = x , I draw the line y = x and then that line repeats itself vertically throughout the z axis. but how do you graph equations of planes with 3 variables?

ex. x + 2y + z = 2? thanks

Find the axis intercepts. For instance when y and z are zero, x = 2. So the x-intercept is 2. Draw lines between each of the points that cross the axes. You'll have a triangle representing the plane.
