Currently a man is under arrest because his ex girlfriend was pregnant and he wanted an abortion but she refused to have it. The man began putting the abortion pill into her food and drinks causing her to abort. Is it not his right to decide if his "clump of cells" matasticises.

also note it is liberals that are always complaining that women are not considered equal to men.

So should he be convicted

Ladies,
The issue that men are sensative to on this issue is not "dominion over women". We feel threatened that a child fathered in error is an enormous liability in emotional and financial terms. The child's mother can choose to terminate a pregnancy against the father's will. The father has no legal recourse to keep the child because it is held in her body. This is devestating to many men. The child can like-wise be born against the father's will. He will be held responsible for it's financial support for the next 18 years at minimum and faces jail if he does not. A man who father's a child through error of judgement, by not using contraception, or through any of the many methods out of his control is held strickly liable by the law for financial support.
If you feel that the woman and only the woman has any right to decide in the abortion decision then take the financial support out of it.

Decision to have sex - equal
Responsible for contraception - 75% female (most common methods are in her hands except condom which is both)
Decision to notify of pregnancy - female
Decision to terminate - female
Decision of adoption - female
who gets custody - female (never met a responsible female who let the father have custody and no court takes a kid from a responsible mother)
Decision of financial responsibility - female (courts award child support if you ask for it, 40% if his income in some states)

There's nothing equal about it.

No it isn't. It's not his body that's carrying the fetus. What he did is mess with the physical integrity of another person. That's not only a crime in this situation but also a violation of her human rights always. Is she as a free adult female would decide to have an abortion she's deciding over her own body. That's the difference. Until men are able to be pregnant this is a non issue.
A woman should have the right to decide whether she has a baby or not. Her body, her decision

Yes, the guy should be convicted for poisoning his girlfriend. But this does bring up an interesting issue about paternal rights. Does a man have any right to determine the fate of his unborn child? And if not, then why should he have any responsibility over it after it is born? Does a mother have the right to kill the child without the father's consent anymore than the father has to kill the child without the mother's? Seems to me as if the life of a child should not be terminated unless both parents agree. If you think the man should have made all of his choices before conception, then so should the woman. That's equality.

This Liberal and abortion thing are really getting old. I am a Liberal and am against abortion. I am pro-life. And a Christian. So are many other Liberals. Did you know that nearly half or half of all abortions have been performed on Republican/Conservative women. How is that Liberal?????

I understand that was not the premise of your question, I just needed to vent about the Liberal abortion issue.

*YAAAAAWN*

OH ok now I'm awake.

I'm just so sick of "Librul" this and "Librrullll" that I fell asleep for a minute.

I didn't know Librrrrrrrrllllls believed women not equal to men??? If so, why are so many of them (supposedly) on the Hillary bandwagon?

IMO, he should be convicted of a voluntary manslaughter-ish type crime.... 5-10 years. Although I don't believe a fetus to have the same rights as a living person, but close, it's a grey area.

Afterall, if you take it out of your pants, you're responsible for what it might do! Right?

What do Liberals have to do with this question?!

I asked a question yesterday on the same topic. I also got a number of it's her body answers.
In my opinion, if two numskulls take part in sex without precautions and one of them gets pregnant then either one should right the right to decide on aborting the fetus.
What about the woman who traps a man in pregnancy? The woman who leads the man on by telling him it's a safe time to have sex, but it's not.
Many woman chine in on this ans say that never happens. That's bs. I know many gold-diggers.
If the right to abortion is to exist, it should exist with equal authority or not exist at all.

Yes, I am against a man's right to choose.

First off, it isn't his choice. It's her choice. She is carrying the fetus, not him. Yes, it might be his sperm that caused it, but it's still her body. Only her choice counts in this case.

Secondly, this scenario just goes to prove that men still want domination over women, which is 110% WRONG!!!! Women contribute just as much to society as men do, if not more. There is no reason for anyone to dominate over anyone.

So in my opinion, yes, he should be convicted.

Interesting way for a con to put it: his "clump of cells"--thought you guys believed in "life at conception."

The female has the body that's going to have the child, if not intervened, not the male. By your logic, females would then have the right to open up the male's head and hand him his brain. Geez.....you guys....

the problem with the whole abortion issue is that there are too many men deciding it. Yes, he should be convicted (of drugging her, not murder). A woman should be free to do whatever she wants with her body.

Equallity is equality. It should not be only a "woman's right to choose" as one hateful bigot stated. If a woman wants an abortion, they say she should get one. If a man wants an abortion, then he should be able to get one, figuratively speaking. What would that entail? He should not be in financial slavery to a woman for 18 years, with the armed thugs of the state ensuring her multiple streams of income.

And what about the claim that "if you take it out of your pants, you're responsible for what it might do," as another answerer casually stated. Curiously, this guy would be howling his objection if someone used that line of reasoning on women, saying that they exercise their "right to choose" when they take off their clothes. This guy wouldn't be promoting discrimination, of course. After all, he's a "librul." Liberals don't discriminate, they seek "social justice."
