It's an important read, because it exposes the many sides of human nature...for better or for worse. It examines the conflicts that people can have in their lives, and how they are able to overcome. And these conflicts are not dated! We still have child abuse and adultery, but there is also mercy, kindness, God, and miracles.

Nothing in human nature has changed in two centuries...it has only become blurred and cloaked in gray and political correctness. The most striking thing to me about some of the characters in Jane Eyre is that they don't make snap judgments about things. They take time to try to get to know the inner person through long talks and observation. It seems that we in the 21st century have become shallow...beings without much substance, and reading Jane Eyre provides one with food for thought about how we view people and life.

Firstly, cos the english of the book is alot better, as compared to the slangs we are so accustomed with. It helps us keep the authentic-ness of the English Language.

Secondly, it has a lot more logic and rational sense of proper living as compared to the rubbish in books nowadays.

Thirdly, it provides a very very good example of what Real Love is, as compared to the i dont like you, then i start to like you, then we end up in bed and realise we really love(lust for) each other nonsense that you get in most novels nowadays.

The book is so good I've reread it several times and didn't have to. Is also part of my personal Library. Lots of action in the book. If it is required reading, read it with the attitudes we are presenting to you. Human emotions have not changed in 200 years. Good Luck. Believe me, I have read many boring books and Jane Eyre isn't one of them.
