War and imperialism suck. I agree with that. But Capitalism if done properly can help elevate all of mankind. Capitalism allows a person to bring themselves up with meager means if they are smart enough and work hard enough. Money is really the only true equalizer and can be had by anyone regardless of race, religon, creed, or sex.

PS. Not all people want peace, freedom or harmony. Just ask the Sudanese that want that British womans head on a pike for naming a teddy bear Mohammed.

How do you know what ppl want? By their words or their actions?
You will NEVER...I mean NE-E-EVV-ERRR get rid of greed (or death for that matter lol...it's a part of life).
Everybody displays forms of greed...you just don't like it when 'rich' ppl (go ahead say 'corporate America') acts in it's own self interest. ALL PEOPLE DO THIS! Even you!
War has been here since the begining of time & will be here to the end.

Peace, freedom & harmony comes w/ a price...one I'm betting you are NOT willing to pay!

I agree with you on the capitalism and imperialism part. But what kind of terrorism do you mean? How about countries that oppresses thier female, homosexual and Jewish population? A lot of people on the left love to chant thier hate Bush propaganda. I'm a liberal, which is why I support the war on terror. I feel that the countries we attacked in the middle east are barbaric and threat to world peace. We were attacked and Bush retaliated, which I applaud him for. I don't agree with all his politics but I think he did the best he could under the circumstances. An intelligent person should think for themself and not subscribe to "all" the ideals of one party or another.

The question is offensive because you group conservitives with imperialism and war. Which, while you may have a historical argument, is not by definition true. Therefore, you are labeling people in an idiom that you determine to be negative. I believe, this was your original intent. And your feeble afterthought did little to allieviate your original transgression.

Typical liberal. You ask questions you already know that answers to, you speak in ideals but take no action, and finally when **** hits the fan you back off with some feeble apology. Now why don't you start acting like the rest of your party and flip-flop?

They always have.

But capitalism, war, imperialism, peace, freedom, harmony, greed, death and terrorism are facts of life and I disagree with you when you say they are finished. They have just transformed into a hybrid form with a more polished image.

Now, tell me, how does 'peace' work on a global scale? There will always be those that don't like the current system, and those will always fight for what they believe. For example, if the United States became a socialist nation as I'm sure you hope it'll become, I would become a revolutionary, or rather a counter-revolutionary as socialists and communists refer to the revolution that created their wonderful countries until the day the economy collapses and they convert to capitalism.

Capitalism is just a fact of life.
Some governments work with it & some work against it.
- the countries that work with it have more freedom & harmony.

War is a horrible thing, but just like there will lways be murders, there will always be wars.
- people want peace, but sometimes you just have to fight. We just disagree as to when a fight is needed.

I'm not sure how you define imperialism.

Capitalism in it's purest form is a wonderful ideal. War will never be finished until we blow ourselves up or the Christians' messiah actually shows up. Imperialism will never be finished as long as there are people who need power to feel good about themselves. Of course people want freedom, peace and harmony. Those are the ideals that all of humanity strives for. However until the nature of man changes, that's all they'll ever be- just idealistic goals.

you must live under a rock. as the 3rd world comes on line and accepts free market principals and the world spirals at a tremendous rate into one big capitalist society and socialism dies, capatalism has never ever been more alive!

that's all i'm saying because you are way off. um, and people want food, some money, safety for their kids, an education, and to make life better. capatalism does all of those things as well as doing away with the need to wage silly wars....you silly!
