I'm soon going to be buying another processor, but it got me thinking which is better for gaming? Intel or amd?

AMD is the gamers core. Intel is the workbrain core.

AMD processors with lower clockrates generally operate better than the intel's with higher clockrates. Consider buying a single core though - like a pentium 4HT 3.4ghz - dual cores arent all that... most games/apps still dont utilize more than one core so you end up doing everything at only half you potential operating power. A few games claim to support dual core, but not fully... crysis is the one and only game so far that has true dual/quad core support.

well im in a intel user all the way.......go w/the dual core, or get a quad.......279.00 on new egg...........q6600
