Use a for alpha and b for beta:
Use:
cos(a - b) = cosacosb + sinasinb
cos(a - b)/sinasinb = (cosacosb + sinasinb)/sinasinb
= (cosacosb)/(sinasinb) + (sinasinb)/(sinasinb)
= (cosa/sina)(cosb/cosb) + 1
= cotacotb + 1
