Islaam is SOOOO misunderstood by the USA. Everyone in the US assumes all Muslims are evil terrorists who want to kill us all. And that is so not true. If you do some research on Islaam, you will see that the religion is not one of violence-- it's one of peace, acceptance, and loving your fellow man. But just because that is what the religion teaches, does not mean all of the muslims in the world will follow it perfectly (for example, in the USA Christians are taught to go to Church but not all of them do. Understand the analogy?). The reason that Muslims are not always seen as loving and peaceful and the reason people terrorists is because they interpret their religion the wrong way, and interpret scriptures the wrong way. For example, In the Qur'an (Muslim scriptures) it specifically says that you should never use your own hatred of other people or prejudices as an excuse to bring harm to them when they have done nothing to you. Osama Bin Ladin (oh gosh, I spelled that way wrong) has obviously interpreted this scripture the wrooooooong way ;) because 9/11 was an act of pure hatred. I'm sure that many Muslims consider Bin Ladin to be a bad Muslim.

Anyways... not all muslims are running around with swords so don't label them all that way. NOT ALL MUSLIMS ARE LIKE THAT. In fact, VERY FEW of them are. It's mainly just extremists... and extremism in ANYTHING, especially religon, is not a good thing. I think the reason they were so offended by the teddy bear being nammed Muhammad is because Muhammad is to them as Jesus is to Christians; he is very very important. They aren't allowed to have pictures of him or anything because they consider that an idol. I imagine that to the EXTREMIST muslims (not ALL muslims), naming a teddy bear after their greatest prophet suggests to them that the woman was saying that the teddy bear as equal to Muhammad, or more important than Muhammad. I don't think naming a teddy bear that is that big of a deal to most Muslims- just the extremists. And people who are extreme about things tend to be a little wacko... that doesn't mean the religion is wacko tho.

Now, I DO think that chopping the womans head off is way to extreme and severe a punishment, and I hope they don't kill her. I do not think it is right to kill her. And I'm sure most Muslims agree with me.

*sighs*... and people wonder why there is so much hate in the world and why there are wars and why there can't be world peace... but just look at all the misunderstandings and stereotypes and prejudices people have against fellow human beings. People are so ignorant...

I'm sure Al Qaeda are involved somehow but I really think the UK Government should send in the SAS and rescue her from that country before she is killed. I heard that UK Government sends millions of pounds in aid to that country every year and I now think that government should stop sending aid all together why should we send aid to country where they openly hate westerners and want us all dead. Its just gone to far its ridiculous. You hear muslims say that Islam is about peace well I see no evidence of that all I see is racism and religious intollerance of other peoples faith.
EDIT: I read about that woman being gang raped in Saudi Arabia the qatif woman I think they call her because she dared to speak so punish by giving her 200 lashes your right that is not justice she's being blamed because she was raped.

The Sudanese are a pack of murderous bastards. I think this should be the straw that breaks the camels back. The West has set back while these thugs murder black Christians. Now they want to beat a woman over a teddy bear.

I realize that the politically correct crowd will tell us that we have to understand and respect their culture and that is fine. But we should give them a taste of our culture, we should send in the SAS and Delta Force to bring her back.

If that does not work we should bomb them into submission. I would say bomb them back to the Stone Age but it looks like we they are already there.

Please note: I am an American Muslim, my husband is a recent convert to Islam. We are NOT happy with what is going on in Sudan. We do not agree with them, so please stop stereotyping all MUSLIMS. They obviously have issues over there, it's actually EXTREMELY sad, I don't even understand what was wrong with naming a teddy bear after our prophet (pbuh). However, you are sounding narrow minded -
Islam literally means "peace" in Arabic and that means something to millions of muslims who are not fanatics! The same thing happens in all religions one way or the other and NO one can deny that.
If you're looking at the news everyday and basing muslims on what you see going on in warring nations then you are closed minded and no better than them. There are millions (the number is growing everyday-fastest growing religion in the world) of muslims all around in the US and it IS AGAINST OUR RELIGION TO HATE OR DISCRIMINATE OTHER RELIGIONS. So Muslims who are commiting that sin are NOT Muslims! we invite any and EVERYONE to our mosques and I can tell you this much, my husband is spanish and I am guyanese, we are not middle eastern, because Islam excepts everyone!!! So please do NOT stereotype Muslims if you've never even met one face to face-you see them everyday and don't even know it. I do not wear hijab (head covering), but I am faithful and hate NO ONE.

The leadership of their religion over the centuries have poisoned the Koran with misinterpretation of Mohammed's instructions for leading a Godly life. He did, however and, unfortunately, slant his verses toward the natural purity of the male and puts women in the position of the 'instigators' of all male lust and sexual perversion. Moslem women have been forced to wear their perpetual black garb for over a thousand years. Did you know that a woman whos claims publicly to have been raped has to have 7 male witnesses who will testify for her? Is that justice? It's in the news now and she's already received a sentence of six mos in jail and 200 lashes for speaking to the press. Male-oriented justice in Islam nations should be spelled 'just for us'

Because they live in a closed society. it will take time, but one day they will get ahold of the declaration of independence and the constitution and start thinking maybe they want that too. Of course, it's hotter than hell in those places, so maybe they are just irritable all the time.
