I can't be the only one who is sick of the media making it seem just fine to dwell on the most superficial things. Most people don't even realize how rude or disrespectful they can be. I feel like we could all be more caring and kind towards others. It's really not that hard. It just makes me sad that we are hurting ourselves by hurting others, but we are not even aware.

Because people become so self centered. A lot of people who have money, also have power and they try to impose on others. They somehow think they are better than others and have more knowledge about everything. That isn't a pleasant person. We all need to be more mindful of others every day in every way.

you are 100% correct. the dowfall of society is due to the lack of respect for our fellow man. people are to concerned with themselves and couldn't care less about anyone else. no one even knows what manners are any more. these days, if i hold the door open for the person behind me and they don't say thank you, i turn around and say "you're welcome". i'll bet they say thank you next time.
