Hi katybabe,
United States Code Section 7, Title Four, which states,
(c) No other flag or pennant should be placed above or, if on the same level, to the right of the flag of the United States of America, except during church services conducted by naval chaplains at sea, when the church pennant may be flown above the flag during church services for the personnel of the Navy. No person shall display the flag of the United Nations or any other national or international flag equal, above, or in a position of superior prominence or honor to, or in place of, the flag of the United States at any place within the United States or any Territory or possession thereof: Provided, That nothing in this section shall make unlawful the continuance of the practice heretofore followed of displaying the flag of the United Nations in a position of superior prominence or honor, and other national flags in positions of equal prominence or honor, with that of the flag of the United States at the headquarters of the United Nations.
I am glad this veteran took down this flag.....but I am sorry that he will probably end up being charged with destruction of property and theft ...and this bar owner will be told not to do this again or maybe not..we wouldn't want to offend.......the veteran will end up with legal bills and fines..and the bar owner will be compensated for the flags..... just wish people wouldn't patronize this jerk and let his bar go under...
If you haven't heard about the Montebello High School incident..you might find it interesting...Click the link above "California students denounce US Flag"...this happened last year...I found it rather disgusting.. .. http://www.mormonfactor.com/flagunderattack.html

A Mexican bar owner in Reno Nevada flew the Mexican flag above that of the United States. Only problem is that this is specifically illegal under United States Code Section 7, Title Four, which states,
(c) No other flag or pennant should be placed above or, if on the same level, to the right of the flag of the United States of America, except during church services conducted by naval chaplains at sea, when the church pennant may be flown above the flag during church services for the personnel of the Navy. in accordance to protection force custom, this is my information that an upside-down flag change into raised to signal that help change into desperately needed and reinforcements should be despatched. that could want to point that whoever did this change into doing a protest that change into declaring that the Mexicans were invading and taking up (the reason that the Mexican flag change into above the yank one, to reveal being taken over), and that the the different way up flag change right into a way of declaring this united states of america change into in determined want of help to end the invasion. And whoever did it may say even in the adventure that they want, no be counted how stupid this is. evaluate that white human beings make up sixty 8% of this united states of america's inhabitants; and ALL Hispanics at the same time (legal and unlawful Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Colombians, Cubans, etc., etc., etc.) in basic terms extra as a lot as 16% of the completed inhabitants (meaning the completed Hispanic inhabitants is in basic terms 23% the dimensions of the white inhabitants) . obviously the unlawful immigration difficulty isn't just about as undesirable as those adult men tried to make it out to be. All Hispanics extra at the same time, no be counted their united states of america of foundation or the legality status, are decrease than a million/4 of the dimensions of the white inhabitants. And in the adventure that they have got a difficulty with it, then why do not they mow their personal lawns? upload-on: Fellas, i do not imagine you comprehend who did this. It change into no longer the Mexicans. It change into an anti-immigration protest, no longer a pro-Mexican protest. upload-on: Wow, i did not do not forget that there have been this many white those who had to be schooled on their personal heritage by ability of a Mexican like myself. it really is type of unhappy, somewhat. especially from those that are area of a social gathering that insists they love the protection force.

US Code Title 4, Section 7 may provide the customs for civilian display of the US flag, but to the extent it is applied to make a crime of displaying the flag under the flag of another country, it would almost certainly be unconstitutional as a violation of the First Amendment. See Texas v. Johnson, 491 U.S. 397 (1989), overturning the laws prohibiting the burning of American flags then in effect in 48 states.

Once in Seattle a bunch of Maoists decided to burn a US flag. They took one down from the Post Office for this purpose. The police had decided to ignore this little drama, but the local skinheads jumped in to defend the flag, so the police had to come anyway. Later the flag-burners were charged with stealing the flag from the Post Office, a federal crime. That made them think, "Maybe we should have brought our own flag." Burning your own flag isn't illegal, after all.
Moral: don't steal flags.

not only the Mexican flag but any flag for that matter, but unfortunately for many Mexicans the ex-lands of Mexico includes many now-days USA States and perhaps is not so "criminal" behavior due to ignorance and sorrowful pain, but "exaggerated dramatic behavior of the so called patriots see it as a life treating it situation, when in actuality Mexicans are the least likely to take over this Land, just think...would they want this to be Mexican governed Lands? NNNNNNOOOOOOO WWWWWaaaaYYYY JJJJooossssseeee, so therefore come on guys don't be so paranoid with our Mexican friends....get hold of yourselves and chill remember we ARE indeed AMERICANS and IN GOD WE TRUST!!!!!! PEACE OUT

Absolutely and, this is one reason I am against the Mexicans coming here. They want to bring Mexico with them. Time and again, they insist they bring their poor values with them, like we're not good enough.
Let them stay home.

Yes. But the chap who tore down the flag did a no-no; you don't take someone else's flag. It would have sufficed for him to have re-hung the flags with the US flag on top.
