I know where your coming from. I felt strongly the same way for a long time. The answer to your first question is fairly complicated so bare with me. One of the greatest Psychologists of all time Carl Jung, saw life as having two distinct dimensions: the vertical and the horizontal. The horizontal is the dimension we all live in (in western society), We're born, learn, go to school, go to work, buy a home, raise a family, and die. It is the rush rush dimension, the rat race if you will. The vertical dimension consists of the spiritual enlightenment at it's peaks, and insanity at it's low (heaven and hell in a sense). The vertical dimension is the home of our dreams, and the mind state of mind state of monks. It is a powerful place to draw strength from (confidence, happiness).
This is what you tap into when you smoke. The issue and why so many people think it's better to be sober is that drugs can place you anywhere within that spectrum and it's not very predictable (more of an issue for hallucinogenics). You could end up feeling confident and happy, connected, or you could feel paranoid, uncomfortable or even insane. The best way I've found to make it more predictable comes from respecting the drug, not treating it recreationally but as a tool to reach that higher state of mind. If you like what I'm saying then you should check out this article it helped me greatly in cultivating my higher self :)

I think it depends on who you are. When I used to smoke it was always fun. I'd laugh, look at the stars, become more open minded, never had anything bad to say about anybody. In general I was pretty happy. Til I wanted this really kick *** job and couldn't get it cuz I couldn't pass a drug test. Yeah, that fake urine is crap. Doesn't work when people start testing for it. Know what else? I never would have been that open minded when I was stoned if it wasn't already a part of who I was.
You can't become physically addicted to Pot. Just mentally. When you let it become your crack cocaine then it becomes a problem. If it affects your home, your finances, your job, it's a problem. Yeah, I had fun. Unless I was freakin out. That happens over time too. It's a documented fact. Over time, pot makes you paranoid and gives several people anxiety. Have fun!

Sweetie, the thing is , marijuana is a really dangerous drug. I have seen many things throughout my life , including people going through a downward spiral because of drugs and smoking. Please, I am telling you this because it would make me so sad if you decided to keep continuing to smoke marijuana. Drugs might make you feel better, but you are only causing yourself more emotional and physical pain then you actually realize. Drugs can do really bad things to people like causing them to have hallucinations and becoming violent . I think you should seek a psychiatrist and a counselor that specializes in drug addictions immediately or call a crisis helpline. Here are some resources that can help you get better:

I hope these sources help! Please get help as soon as possible , even if you can confide with an adult or a family member! No one wants to see you in so much pain and I hope you get better soon!

I am no stranger to pot and the symptoms you describe do not coincide with my experience.
pot enhances experiences for me....
music, reading, walking around town.
But I sure would not want to go to important job interview stoned.
Or operate machinery...
Or drive a bus.
are you new to pot?
you sound smitten.
My sister can't touch the stuff.
makes her paranoid.
I'm a 56 yo stoner in Seattle.

Personally, and maybe this was just a coincidence, but the times I was smoking I was less outgoing, less confident, had less fun, and had less to say about anything. Maybe its just me but I don't think it does any good.
