Hate it. The only Shelly I ever knew was an arrogant wretch who thought the world revolved around her and who blithely assumed none of us noticed her inferior IQ.
I know some people use it as a nickname for Michelle and the two Michelles that I've known, well, one looked like Frankenstein in drag and the other smelled bad.

Nice ' pretty; patient; and just a great person and by the way my name is shelly' and i;m not stinky ' selfish' or any other things the answers wrote .For gods sake people it's a name not a person.That;s like saying all cheryl's are bad as it sounds like barrel.It;s only a name' nothing else...Thank-you have a great week-end.

I like Shelly I have a friend who has that name and she is always sweet, nice and happy. So that's what I think of when I hear that name. =)

I think it's a very pretty name. I know a Shelly, and she is very friendly and outgoing. So I guess that's what I think of when I hear the name.

If the name is Michelle, ans Shelly was the abbreviated version. However, I dont like it as a name

No, I had a boss named that and she was a b*tch!!!
On the other hand I did have a best friend with that name in high school.

well i don't think good things, but thas only cuase i know this girl named shelley and she bugs the piss out of me. its really bad, she's so wiered and annoying. if i try to block that out i guess its a pretty good name. its a smart name.
