aside from buying a humidifier, any suggestions?

No, you need a humidifier. If your apartment has radiators, you can place bowls of water on top of the radiators to increase the humidity.

T_T well a humidifier is really the best solution. But boiling a big pot of water can help get some moister in the air (and i like to add cinnamon sticks to mine too for a sweet scent). But moister is the only way to really beat it-if its not a humidifier than its nasal saline drops and visine :D Also the boiling of water is best for daytime use while under your watch-otherwise it could result in a really rude awakening late at night. Of course you can always turn the heat down a bit at night and get an electrical blanket to keep you warm. thats safe and comfy still

Turn off or turn down the heat. Open a window and allow cool air to flow while you lay under thick blankets. You'll sleep like a baby.
