i think that to a certain extent Y!A is a reflection of society at large - so yes there are racists and sexists here as there are in society.

Sure they are. And the color of their skin doesn't matter. It's called 'tribalism', and it's sadly prevalent these days, just about wherever you go. Black against White against Hispanic against Arab against Jew against...the list is endless. Iraqi against Kurd. 153rd Street against 154th Street.

I have always thought of myself as being particularly unprejudiced. But I had my eyes opened by a dear friend in Paris awhile ago. White herself, she always has had African boyfriends. When I asked why she always chose men of a different race, she answered, "There is no "race", my dear.
