You appear to be an educated person. Why do you believe that President Bush harmed the United States? And if so , WHY? Present to us the reasons why you think harm was done( not what your professor or media pundit said). Your reasons! If it is the war, remember Congress approved the action by an overwhelming majority including Hillary. Have we had any major attacks on American Soil since 9/11? Have many of the leadership of al Quida been eliminated ? Does the media still report every word that Osama bin ladin utters? And do the imbedded reporters report the gains and good deeds performed by our wonderful troops or do they embellish every little thing they do wrong? Now ask your question again onlystate it as " do you believe that the media helped or harmed the USA , and why?"

I don't believe Pres. Bush is a bad person. I believe he has tried to do what's best for our country. But a president is only as good as his people working in his cabinet and executive offices. If they don't apprise him of helpful things that need to be done that will affect his goals when he come into office, then he will look bad. Then again if he is stubborn and doesn't know or have the wisdom or sense to make a good decision, then it hurts the country. If the truth was known, he may wish he had never made the decision to go to war in Iraqi, but he did and that's going to be his legacy. But I don't believe he wanted to intentionally go to war, he was convinced by some of his close advisors that it was the right thing to do. But we will never really know for sure until many many months go by to see if the terriorist are just setting back and waiting for a new government to shape up over there, but we must remember that it is well known that radical Islam's are against the US. That's what has been written so I guess we have to believe it, because 911 was done by them. Since then, things have been tightened up, but who knows what Gore would've done if he had gotten the job?
To answer your question, I don't believe that Bush has been able to heal the country.

President Bush blatantly spit on our Constitution. He said it was nothing but a piece of paper inferring it didn't mean or stand for anything. He has taken away our rights through the Patriot Act. Because of his foreign policy we are scorned through out the world. Americans have more to fear now than they ever did before 9/11. I pay more in taxes and receive less than I ever have. All the man cares about is how much money he's gonna have when he gets out of office and how much power he can weld. Can any of you think of anything good about his term in office?

I think he's done a tremendous amount of good. Recognizing the threats against us and being willing to do something about them is a tremendously positive, and necessary, thing. No, he hasn't always made the perfect move, but doing nothing would have been the worst thing.

No if only he would bring the same sense of urgency and willingness to act to the issue of illegal immigration . . .

He also helped wipe out some good enviromental legislation so corporate america could make some badly needed easy money. And vise pres dick pretty much helped him self to as much as he could get his greety little hands on well guess he actually used someone elses hands

He's harmed the US in many ways. Doubled the National Debt, changed the Bill of Rights, started an unnecessary war, and lowered the opinion of the US around the world.

I used to be a loyal Republican.

But Bush has done more to harm the US than any single President in history.

This board is not big enough to begin to post the reasons.

He put us billions of dollars into debt and killed hundreds of soldiers...for what? To get revenge on a guy who attacked our country...and 6 years later, that guy is still hiding in a hole somewhere. He went a little overboard with this war, and no offense to southerners, but we need to keep them out of office. Both of the Bushs' were horrid for the US...their old fashioned southern beliefs are just way too much. He should have been impeached long ago!

All the facts aren't in yet. Just like with Reagan, everyone in the other party is screaming that he is an idiot.
But he is doing things differently, I call it somewhere between
Roosevelt and Carter.
We really won't know until the dust settles and if the final evaluation is good, still won't be told by the media for 50 yrs.
