I follow it. I mean its a better idea to keep a closer eye on your enemies rather than your friends. By keeping your enemies close, you know their moves, moods and characteristics, and you can even sometimes be undetected as their enemy.

I guess to me it means that you need to keep an eye on your enemies because they are more likely to do something to hurt you than your friends are. So, keep your friends close and have fun with them, but keep your enemies closer so you know what they are up to!

I beleive it because if i was locked up in a room with my worst enemy, i'd keep them all closer just to kill them and my friends somewhat close, just for someone to talk to sometimes. So... I believe AND follow it *insert insane laugh here*

The first I ever heard of this line was in the " Godfather " movies. In essense what it means is" Trust the friends but be aware of what they are doing." As for your enemies " Know exactly what they are doing at all times. They are the ones who can do harm."

I firmly believe that it is a good way for somebody to end up dead. At least as it applies to my friends and enemies.

I think this is true. This is what I do. Not letting people know your enemies is actually quite easy and by this way, no one really knows what you're thinking.
