Alcohol. At the early onset of suicidal depression, I could not sleep so a friend bought me full strength everclear with absinthe to flavor it. It did not help and eventually, even after 7 glasses, I would sit all night by the open window watching the little night visitors fly in and out. I fond a little dead one and cried for hours. In the morning I went to bury it but could not find it. I spent days crying or so tight in the chest I could not breathe. Although my health is so much better, I do not know if that was real or alcohol induced.
