Did you know they use your poems, to sell books. I am not talking about the books that publish your poems in it that they try to sale to you, with your work in it...But key words in your poem are underlined, and when you click on it, it sends you to places like Amazon.com. all these online book stores. Your poems are being used as advertizement to sale other books on other links. I had not given anyone permission to use my poem as a marketing scheme.Do they have the rights to use our work , as a link for other companies, There is nothing in the guide lines that say so.

Thanks for taking the time to inform me and everyone that reads this. I well make sure not to put a poem on there. I was just about to before I saw this. Thanks again.
Have a good day.

You know, I honestly never read the guidelines (I probably should). When I submitted my poem years ago, I got an invitation in the mail to go to Washington D.C. Of course I couldn't go, but I saw that they were also publishing my poem. My poem is in a book (one that I cannot afford with my own money - it's $50), and I don't know why they would put it in there anyway. It sucked. I was 10-11 years old. :/

i once sent one poem and i received that invitation to be at the launching of the book. but then on succeeding occasions i was not able to enter another poem because they delisted our country from the list of countries which are allowed to enter the contest. anyway i remember that they stated in the invitation that they would include my poem in the book and that it would be a coffee table book for sale. there was no mention of honorarium or payment though. like you've just been given privilege to be part of the book but you don't get any in return.

Does it say that in the Terms of Service that they will NOT use your poetry for these? If not, its basically the site user's fault. If it DOES, then poetry.com is not going to last long.

Pretty funny in my opinion:
"taking pills to stay awake until her nose bled from exhaustion."
exhaustion is a hot link to Ambien CR...
