No difference other than cost (the mountain water is probably contaminated with Dihydrogen monoxide just like the city water anyway).
"This mountain water has no chemicals?"
So it has no water then?

A lot depends on the source for both. If you drink from a spring, parasites are unlikely contaminants, just as they are in your tap water. If you drink downstream, with sheep or calves (or other livestock) between you and the spring, you are asking for trouble. While tap water is almost always parasite-free, there was a nasty outbreak of Cryptosporidium in Milwaukee awhile back. People died and a lot more were wishing that they could. Spring water is less likely to have fluoride in it than tap water but in some parts of the world, it could have more than your tap water does. Most city tap water is chlorinated; some is purified with ozone and UV light. Spring water may be loaded with minerals picked up from the rocks it has passed. Some tap water does too. One curious thing: NYC's water, which is not chlorinated, frequently beats out expensive bottled waters in blind taste tests. New Yorkers still complain about it, though.
As for my credentials, I've worked for a major water company and consulted in the environmental field (including water supply). I've also been drinking water for many, many years.

Absolutely. Fresh mountain water is living, breathing spiralling water full of vitality. City water is full of hundreds of toxic chemicals like fluoride, chlorine and arsenic. Check out the work of Masaru Emoto or Victor Schauberger. It's the same water at a different part of the hydrological cycle but the clouds and the rocks purify the water. Some mountain streams can be polluted with animal waste, the closer to the source the better.

The main difference is that the city water supply is likely safer than a mountain stream. Mountain streams can contain dangerous parasites like ameobas, and giardia. A city water system will not. If you want to drink directly from a stream you should use a camping carbon filter made to filter out parasites, or use a small amount of bleach, or boil before drinking. Any experienced camper will tell you how to safely drink from an unknown water source.

The two categories are really drinking water vs distilled water. Distilled water you don't want to drink, because it is so pure that it will actually remove vitamins and minerals from your body. Drinking water and Spring Water have food grade minerals added to keep them from leaching nutrients out of your body. As per the first response, a Brita filter is the best way to go, make your own drinking water for much cheaper and not have all those plastic bottles to pay for and recycle.

Depends on the source for both. You can still have polluted Rockie mountain water due to pollution from China. Or acid rain in central US due to coal power plants in Mid West. Or oil spill in Great Lakes that pollutes Chicago's water supply. You get the idea.
If you truly want to know if your local water supply or your bottled water supply is okay to drink, get it tested.

No significant difference. Much city water is in fact mountain water in my area. But the mountain water may not have adequate fluoride, and if that is the case you will be feeding your dentist's retirement fund.

any water from a mountain is best. the rocks clean it constantly. it`s not even comparable with the city water wich it`s full of chemicals and fluoride. that goes for any city around the world.
