Call his office--the receptionist there can tell you who is covering for him although it's likely he'd want to see you first. Maybe your doctor's nurse or nurse practitioner could sign it. Go to an Urgent Care or walk-in clinic to get checked out. It's a good idea if you've been sick this long and don't seem to be getting better. Actually this is probably the better idea because I can't imagine any doctor blindly writing an excuse without verifying your symptoms never having seen you before.

How long have you been with him? Did he say why he cheated on you? How long was he cheating before you found out? Did he confess to you, or did you catch him? Is this the first time he's cheated on you? Do you know if he's ever cheated on another girlfriend? If you hope to work through this with him, you need to answer these questions honestly. You may never trust him again, nor would he trust you if you cheated on him. So, be prepared to always wonder what he's up to. Trust is the foundation of a good relationship. If you want that, then you have a long way to go to get there in light of what he's done. Only you can decide what to do. But, I would ask myself if I thought I could put up with someone who is a liar and cheat. Because while he was cheating on you, he was lying too. I guess it all depends on how important you think honesty is.

Any walk in clinic no-appointment-needed doctor will provide you a note if you are sick and should not be at work, no ifs and or buts. Or are you cheating work?

Your doctor should have another doctor as a backup while he's gone. Have you asked about it?

DO NOT GO TO THE ER... that is not what they are for and thats why there are so many people in the er when you go for a REAL emergency and it takes soooo long.... go to a urgent care...its just like a regular doctors office with walk-ins welcome.. please please please do not go to the er..
