This is such a common saying. My question is this.. Why is it true? Is it because it's FUN to cheat? (Just wondering..)

It's bull. It's not true at all. I cheated on my wife 3 days after we were married. But, other than doing her little sister it never happened again.

Extended business trips don't count as cheating.

that is not always true. Granted, there are some who make it a habit of cheating because of the ego satisfaction as well as sexual satisfaction. But there is another person, a man, who is in a relationship and a woman chases him to the point that he gives in and has an affair. This may be a one time thing and a result of him not being strong enough to resist and he may regret that for the rest of his life and be a great husband after that, or the same for women in reverse. The whole problem is that people see love as a cure all and don't spend enough time to know each other before marriage or don't spend as much time supporting each other afterwards. cheating is the symptom, not the disease itself.

Not always true. Some people cheat because they can, some because it becomes an addiction, and some because they need an excuse to get out of a bad relationship it just depends on the situation.

This is from a cheat, to a broken heart of a cheat!
Yes it is fun exciting and not to mention if they take us back, the chance we get to do it again...

Getting caught sucks, and ya we hurt but yes we change, just it takes a very long time for us to see a light that your trying to show! Cheaters are just very hurt people and try everything not to love but to just be, be sexual be drunk be high be different be anywhere but in love, we may say it and we may cry, but if we cheat once we do it again!

no, it's not true. some guys realize that they have made a mistake by cheating and never do it. but some guys go, "wow, that was so much fun...i wonder if i could do it again and not get caught..."

this applies to girls as well, obviously. some people think it's fun to cheat, without thinking of the feelings of the other partner, and some realize that cheating is wrong.

I don't think it is fun to cheat or to be cheated on! I think it takes a special kind of person not to cheat in a relationship. There are many out in this world that are like this too. When I come across someone that does cheat, it seems like it don't matter who they are with or how well the relationship is going they just can't help themselves not to cheat! Maybe it is just they're nature, maybe it's in they're genes (he-he, no pun intended). I have learned, by watching and observing, if anyone cheats to be with you, then they will cheat on you too! Hence, once a cheat always a cheat!!!

I agree that once you cheat, you will always be a cheater, as you have committed the act of being unfaithful. But I do not feel that 'once a cheater, always a cheater. That is a cliche' and not based on real people. Some will always cheat, while others learn from it.

its not always true and i'm speaking from experience, i've cheated before but not in my current relationship, i dont even want to. yea its fun to cheat, the thrill, the attention you get from the other person, its fun but also people continue to cheat because when they got caught the other person was so quick to forgive and move on with no consequences so why not do it again

Some people can simply be indicisive. They don't really know what type of people they like. When you start a relationship, don't get married, just continue to be friends. If they like you they will stay, if they don't, they will leave and you haven't lost any money paying for the marriage or honeymoons! Hope this helps!

Anyone who has cheated has convinced themselves that their lies are really not that bad. If they hadn't then they wouldn't be able to live with themselves.

Once you have convinced yourself that that lie was okay then it is easier to do it the next time and so on. Therefore never trust a cheat because by the tenth time they probably can't even admit that what they have done is wrong!!
