I think people under the age of 21 are too involved with being rebellious and "older" to be completely responsible while drinking. Since we aren't allowed to drink before 21, it's the lure of forbidden fruit for teens. American culture is very different than Eurasian and their society has a more relaxed attitude toward alcohol. If you do choose to do it, be responsible, and pay attention to how you react to it. This will help you make better decisions and know when to cut yourself off.

Drinking to excess is never good, drinking to get a "buzz" is the wrong reason to drink, drinking to be "social" is usually an indication of a problem.

Drinking for enjoyment, limiting your intake to one beer or hard drink and nursing it for the night, drinking to become an expert "taster", such as a wine connoisseur or a beer taster as a master brewer...these are more acceptable reasons to drink.

I don't know about Holland, but Russia is a country with an astounding rate of alcoholism.

Before I became a parent the drinking age was 18. I personally think that kids should be kids and when they become adults they should drink responsibly, however, adults also act like they are 16 and drink and drive. With that being said... adults can be irresponsible too, so it's certainly not an age problem but it is the person irrational and irresponsible decision to be so stupid

I don't think drinking is a great idea anyway-- it makes people do stupid things that mess up their lives and other people's lives, too-- but medical studies have shown that drinking before your brain is done growing (around age 21) can cause permanent brain damage, as well as making it more likely you'll become an alcoholic. Russia, for example, has a very serious alcoholism problem... maybe because they start drinking so early.

no I dont..and I think it is ridiculous how bad the Media nd government portray drinking, the best part of a hard week of work is hitting hppy hour on Friday with some friends and drinking a few beers...maybe getting a little buzz...no need to get plastered.

I remember when I was in Dom Rep I saw kids drinking, they were more mature about it than 21 year olds here, let people drink young they will be more responsilble in the long run

The drinking age is 21 because under that age your pre-frontal cortext is still under too much development. Your central nervous system is also undeveloped until the age of 21 (one of the reasons the drinking age was increased). As a result, it takes very little alcohol to ruin your body under certain ages. So my answer is yes .

I am not a tea toddler. I have an occasional beer or glass of wine. That being said, I think drinking is bad if you're under 21, and are any age above it. My brothers started when they were in their teens, and its taken their lives down the toilet.

In the United States it is illegal for minors (under 21) to drink. If you are 21 or older, drinking is only bad if you do it to get drunk.

yes only because kids that age are not mature, and can over do it causing them serious consequences, possibly death. Even at 21 there are people the same way but I think it is safer for the age to be 21 and not any younger
