I need atleast 2 to 3 reasons why reagents are called primary standards...any help? I have a final tomorrow. Please answer quickly. Thank you.

Because you determine the identities of chemicals and their concentrations based on how they react with your reagents. If your reagents are not exactly what they are supposed to be then anything you do in the lab is garbage.

Primary standards are generally traceable to NIST, USP or some standard that is recognize as being of very high purity.
