For a PERFECT rhyme use:
birds, curds, girds, herds, nerds
(Of these, "birds" has the most possibilities for a love poem.)
Notice that there are other words that are not perfect but "near" rhymes, that often work very nicely in poetry. In this case:
curves, deserves, (un)nerves, serves, swerves
burbs, blurbs, curbs, disturbs, herbs, verbs
bergs, ergs
alerts, asserts, averts, blurts, dirts, exerts, flirts, girts, hurts, shirts, skirts, spurts
clerks, dirks, irks, jerks, lurks, murks, perks, quirks, shirks, works
berths, births, unearths
