Yeah, like Smoofus said. I was workin' for a time with a bunch of astronomers at Clark Lake Radio Observatory, and I watched as a LOT of the people there became 'ex grad students,' deciding that, e.g., working on an oyster boat would be more lucrative and fulfilling than academic catfighting for another 35 years would be.
They left at irregular intervals, but there was always a vacancy waiting for 'the new grad student.'
I suppose it might have been a factor that the U of Iowa and U of Maryland honchos there were total jerks. And I did notice that all of the grad students who stayed had a large jerkish streak. Hm . . . probably a dissertation in that somewhere.

hi summer time, i'm sorry on your issues. There are continually 2 facets to a narrative. besides the undeniable fact that what you experience is your fact. So shall we handle that. First the obtrusive one. have you ever tried chatting with them regarding the type you experience whilst they say those issues? in case you haven't any longer then try it. Is there a grandparent or aunt/uncle which would be sympathetic to you? that would desire to backfire through fact your mothers and fathers will locate out regarding the verbal substitute, so think of two times. Failing it fairly is there a school counselor or pastor which you will communicate to. in case you have and that i recommend fairly tried then depart them once you pass to college. "they gained't enable you reside in place of residing" they can't give up you. Do you have a factor time activity? If no longer get one or 2 and save some money. confer with the college and notice what financial help is obtainable. you have a three hundred and sixty 5 days so the worst case is to attempt and block it out, make a plan and then execute it. My mothers and fathers continually performed down my aspirations, in the main through fact the college instructors informed them i replaced into sluggish and that they believed them. I proved them incorrect and you will too. desire this helps and save your chin up

He may have quit because the courses were unfulfilling or maybe he did it because he didn't want to have to continue to take out student loans that would have taken him years to pay off.

I think it is a bit like people who take womens studies. They like to sound smarter than they actually are, like they have done something of value but really havent.
Maybe he just wants to sound like he was smart enough to start so he isnt a total loser, like the womens studies.
