It looks like he couldn't get the huge deal he was looking for so he might end up with the Fightins. They are one of the best teams in the NL and hopefully will be for many years.Long contracts to Chase,JRoll,Ryan,Cole will only help with negotiations.Wouldn't you sign with them?

Nobody really knows where he's going. A lot of times word will get out in terms of a guy wanting to go here or there but if Rowand is leaning toward anyone, it is being kept pretty tight lipped. I don't think the Phillies will bring him back though. He's a good player and provides a good clubhouse presence and plays hard etc. but he's asking for ridiculous money. How many times have we seen guys step up in contract years, get their money and return to mediocrity. I don't think Rowand will ever match the numbers he put up this past year. The Phillies are probably smart to just let him walk and not overpay and lock him into a long term situation like they did with Pat Burrell.

I think the Dodgers and White Sox are the biggest two possibilities......I do hope though that he stays in Philly b/c we all love him on the Phils and he just puts his body on the line all the time.....If only he wanted less money or we could give more....

edit: you all think he will go to New York!!! that is horrible, at least its the Yankees and not the Mets....that would just be ridiculous if he went to the Mets......

He is going back the the White Sox. Rowand is a big Chicago fan it would be the best choice because the White Sox are the best.

The Yankees, I think a trade for Dan Haren or Johan Santana falls through. (Haren for Kennedy and Melky or Johan for Hughes and Melky). That opens up a need for the Yankees in center field (Damon has no arm). I think Rowand is a good fit in New York.

I don't believe Rowand will accept arbitration if he can get the contract he is looking for elsewhere. From everything I am hearing the Giants have the upper hand at this time.

The Phillies will offer him arbitration more on the standpoint of if he denies the arbitration, then they get another draft pick next year...I doubt that they will spend the kind of money on him, then turn around and try to actually fix the ball club!

Who knows, I know that the Chicago White Sox is in running for him, but that doesn't mean that he will make a return to them, and the south side of Chicago, and US Cellular Field. But of course they are going to offer him arbitation thati s since they want him, and they will get penalzied if they don't, where they can't tak to him again until a certain point.

I think the Yankees are going to have Melky Cabrera in the package to get Santana and the Yankees have an offer on the table with Rowand.
