Buying an individual laser diode for a DVD burner is going to be pretty hard to do, those things are usually sold in bulk although if you just need the diode you can pull apart a DVD drive (and if you need a working DVD burner you may as well not bother pulling it apart).

Why would you want one?

On a different note, you can just go buy a DVD drive and take the diode out of it.

don't forget, the diode also has to be aligned, with prisition is a component like that not proprietary, and ordering it would have to be directly from the manufacturer which would cost far more than the unit is worth? or maybe not, i dont know ;-)
