I've seen good deals on wood boats in craigslist, the nickle ads, and my local newspaper. Most brokers have web pages you can check, so do a search for boat brokers in your area also. Another source is the boat trader; http://search.boattraderonline.com/search/

If you are in the UK, then the Merlin Rocket web site often has "free to a good home" boats discussed either on the for sale or on the discussion list:

Check wooden boat magazine, Boater world, a boat brokerage, walk the docks and see one you want. Find who the owner is and talk to them. Some boat owners just might want to sell. Good luck and buy a good sander.
