for the Chicago area it will remain very cold until 2 pm Saturday when some snow will move into the area with temps in the low 30s. it will continue to snow until 5 pm when subtropical moisture from the upper level low will mix with the polar high and will turn to freezing rain. up to an eighth of an inch to about a fourth of ice could be possible, and it will last until 1 am during this time winds will also pick up to 20 -25 mph. after 1 am it will warm up into the 40s

It is coming. Its going to start as snow late tomorrow morning then turn to freezing rain with a potential for some ice accumulation. Then it will turn to rain over night as the warm air comes in and then turn back to snow late sunday.
