Well, Intestinal Mucous, aside from having the most bitchin' Y! screenname I've yet to see, this is a good question because it's exciting to think of what this watch will go through on the wrist that wears it. When you say "nice" I take it as something that will last five to ten years, which means he / you'll be wearing it for your first real job interview, on some of your first serious dates, and likely for some kind of graduation.

Which means I think you should spend a few hundred bucks. Why? Because it has to last and it has to look great and let's face it, a watch is jewelry for men - the only one we should really wear apart from cufflinks in my opinion, and jewelry shouldn't be cheap. It doesn't have to be super expensive, but you wouldn't buy your girlfriend a $50 piece of jewelry would you? What's the point?

You don't have to go crazy but here are some options under $500 - http://www.debonairmag.com/time_isnt_money_-_watches_under_$500.htm the $300 Tissot is my personal fave. http://www.tourneau.com/Tourneau/Main/Catalog/Results/Product%20Details/Keyword%7Erubber%20band/Page%7E1/RecordsPerPage%7E154/ProductId%7ETIS0103956.aspx

nicely, for professional adult men, watches are the biggest status image, comparable to the way women persons view engagement jewelry. So, $3 hundred is a cracker jacks toy. An get admission to point professional watch will run $2,000 - $3,000. Baume & Mercier, Tag Heuer, Breitling, Omega may be the get admission to point producers. So for $3 hundred funds, you should besides basically purchase a pretend Rolex, with the aid of fact something is a comedian tale.

Tissot make excellent quality (swiss) watches and in various styles to suit sporty/professional/fancy types. Depends when it is being worn, but brands like seiko, citizen, tissot, bulova have lots of different styles and are all great quality, without being very expensive. And they will actually last a long time.

And this solar/battery tech will filter down later to other T-Touch models with a more normal (smaller) feature set. So you will be able to get this tech for much less than a grand in the future. But the "do it all" nature of this "first of its generation" is appealing too. Sure is large, but a lot of watch. Bold and sporty so it more or less pulls off it size.

If you're going to bang it up, when you wear it, then a Timex. They're durable, and inexpensive. I used to use them for work all the time. Ten bucks, at the time, and not a problem. If it got broken, I could replace it cheaply.
