I'm looking for something that I won't burn up in in the summer and protection of course. So I guess the question is which would give me the better ventilation. By the way I hear Teknic jackets run small. I'm 5'1, 98 lbs. Do you think I can fit a mens 38? Please advise.

From the descriptions, the first one listed may have better ventilation with the removable panels. The second one sounds better from a protection point of view, with good ventilation. I happen to like the elbow armor being held in place on the shell. Mine is in a pocket on the inner, it tends to be in different positions depending on what else I'm wearing. I don't like that.

Will a men's 38 fit? Possibly.
You're small, but it depends on your figure as well.
If you are not busty, it may be too big.
Men's and Womens clothing is cut differently, for (sometimes) pretty obvious reasons.
It would be best if you could find what you want in a women's jacket. They need to fit properly. For comfort, as well as protection.

I know it's hard, keep looking.
I wear odd sizes too.

mesh jacket is perfect for you, it can give you more protection, adjustable to stay fit on your body and of course it is an air cooled during summer driving!
