it remains a mystery for several generations as it require considerable amount of exploration.
Given that in last 4-5 centuries humans has achieved this much advancement in space science i had no doubt that in next 4-5 centuries humans are far more advanced, large number of educated manpower is available & it will help to crack further mysteries at great rate never ever before.
Agree humans can only hypothicate about thinge that are beyond capacity to test in laboratories. But by careful observations & logical thinking will one day surely cracks all kind of mysteries that associate with vast everexpanding universe.
Of course we have to take rebirth after 500 years [if possible any how] to gauge the orogress.

I have a poster on my wall that's an intergalactic "you are here" sign. At each level, some tiny speck is blown up into a new region, zooming in on it. There are 4 of these zoomings to get to our Solar System level....
I've thought about the shape of the universe a lot myself. A simple sphere (4-dimensional, but still spherical) seems most reasonable, and yet somehow overly simplistic. If the universe IS in fact a closed sphere then there's something really interesting to realize: A lot of the distant galaxies we see out there might in fact be us over and over agin, just further and further in the past. The light from the early Universe has just looped round and round the sphere of the universe until it reaches our telescopes!
My math isn't good enough, but I've also got a pet theory that the shape of the universe is what causes the speed of light to be the cosmic "speed limit." A sphere doesn't seem to fit this idea, though....
Now if God made the universe, and has a sense of humor like Douglas Adams, then the answer to it all is written on a big interstellar billboard that just so happens to be opposite the galactic center from our point of view, so we'll never get to see it. :)

To the main question: yes.
It appears more and more that the universe is infinite in spatial dimensions. Certainly the data collected by WMAP appears to favor this interpretation (it has definitely ruled out the possibility of the universe being "small" (whatever tha means.
In effect, having an infinite universe solves a lot of problems: there is no need to identify a shape; the universe expands into itself (it does not need to expand into anything else)...
If the universe really is infinite, then there must be life elsewhere (after all, we are 'living' proof that the probability is not exactly 0). However, it could be that there is no life within our Galaxy. If that were true, then Contact and communications would be difficult (and rare).
I suspect that if you don't get to understand (at least a part of it) before you die, then you won't know.

well, you make good point, the universe is expanding , but you must grasp the fact that there are more than one universe, there's an infinite number of them, let me explain, there was a theory that all matter is connected threw tiny stands of matter , called string theory, science used the correct formulas and algorithms, but got 5 different versions,(like it was evolving) they were using the 10 dimensional rule, they had to add an eleventh dimension to get them to blend. At which point they formed a membrane, so the theory evolved in to
M- Theory, stating the universe is a membrane, then another group of scientists said that gravity was to strong for the given amount of matter in the universe, they used m-theory, and discovered that there is, in theory mind you, that there are/is more than one membrane, and that gravity is leaking into our universe, also that the big-bang, was just the collision of two or more of these membranes creating our universe, and so there is an infinite number of membranes/universes, so think, life, spacial dimension, time, the are all just an infinitely small part in the infinitely large Multiverse.

first of all, easy *is* an electromagnetic field. it is the interplay between the electrical powered and magnetic areas that enable the sunshine to propagate in a vacuum. next, easy, like various issues on the quantum point is the two a particle and a wave. extra especially, it is a risk wave the place the risk is of detection of a particle. The wave nature shows up in issues like interference fringes and diffraction varieties. there is likewise a wavelength and frequency linked with it. notwithstanding, if the intensity is somewhat low, purely individual photons would be detected. Even nevertheless, the interference varieties will construction up over the years. i could could desire to factor out that electrons have this same belongings of being the two a wave and a particle. We normally think of of electrons as debris, yet additionally they tutor interference varieties with advantageous and unfavourable interference. This fairly shows an underlying team spirit in ALL elementary debris: all of them tutor the two wave and particle residences with the wave being a risk wave.

"meaning" and "purpose" are human constructs.
Why not just accept what is, without looking for a meaning or purpose?

Yes. We will.
Our bodies have purposely been created so that we CAN'T understand or fully grasp eternity, or the universe.
It is part of the plan so we can be happy forever.
AND the truth has been revealed NOW so that those like you who really want to know can have their questions answered and be at peace.
I learned much of the truth from reading THE book that explains what ALL of Revelation in the Bible means. It explains truth and reality, and answers many of your questions posed above, in a logical, common sense way. Here are a few quotes:
In our Universe, there exists an infinite amount of dark space and dark matter in which there are an infinite number of galaxies. “Dark matter” can be best described as matter that is composed of elements scientists have not yet discovered and do not understand. There is no part of the Universe in which there is not some form of matter, as there is no such thing as emptiness; for even when a clear glass stands empty to the human eye, it is still filled to its brim with the matter that makes up air, i.e., oxygen, nitrogen, argon, and other trace minerals named by the primitive understandings of modern human scientists.
Each galaxy is comprised of a finite, yet enormous number of solar systems. Each solar system is comprised of a finite number of planets. Dark matter and dark space have always been. The Universe has always been. Though continually being created throughout the endless Universe, galaxies have always been; solar systems have always been; eternal laws have always been; life has always been. Eternal means just that—eternal—no beginning and no end.
Eternal laws ensure a course of balance called happiness. All element, all matter, and all things obey eternal laws. The greatest source of happiness is experienced by free-willed beings who can consciously, and through their own agency, utilize eternal law for their individual happiness. Therefore, the eternal purpose of all things is to arrive at a state of eternal happiness, which can only be achieved by arriving at a state of eternal existence—currently expressed for our understanding as “resurrection and eternal life.” Human beings who have progressed and advanced to the ultimate level of potential to experience happiness can be referred to as “Gods.”
If we are children (creations) of God, then it follows that the course of our nature is to become like our Creator, thus all becoming Godlike in nature; or according to eternal law, all achieving eternal happiness according to our individual desires of happiness. This state of happiness occurs through both physical and mental progression when we view God from the perspective that He is a profoundly advanced human being and represents the end of our own eventual eternal state of being:
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. (Genesis 1:26–27)
...John writes of the glorious time when the whole world will finally be aware of what they can do to create an environment of peace and happiness (“salvation”). This can only occur when a proper leader directs according to the rule of a righteous law (“the kingdom of our God”).
Logic should cry that unless this Anointed One comes to the earth in a supernatural, spectacular way, demonstrating a power (“strength”) and knowledge never known before, the people will doubt his authority. When this alien visits the earth, then will the truth be known that we are not alone in this Universe, and there are others who have progressed in knowledge and understanding far beyond anything we mere mortals can comprehend. Instead of speculation, hypothesis, belief, opinion, or imagination, reality will finally become the norm.
...Human nature is what it is, and what it has always been when free-willed beings are allowed to exist. There has never been a time when there have not been humans in some part of the Universe. The makeup of the human body consists of billions of independent molecular entities all seeking a level of balance. This balance causes different atoms to bond together to form molecules, cells, organs, bone, and tissue. The final end of all molecular and quantum creation and interaction is to arrive at the balance they seek naturally; which balance always conforms to eternal natural laws have always existed. Humans recognize and identify this balance as happiness.
To arrive at this optimum state, a set plan has been outlined, an evolution followed, and a progression set in motion that has never changed, nor ever will. This is the eternal plan of salvation attributed to God, the Creator of all things, whose mysterious persona is revealed with the knowledge that there have always been Gods to oversee the eternal plan of life.
Because of Their eternal experience, the Gods know exactly how free-willed beings act in certain situations and under certain conditions.
In modern science labs, truths are established by experimentation which includes the observation of how certain substances act and react in different environmental situations. Once the conditions have been re-created, and the outcome observed long enough, and the conditions produce the exact same reactions and results, science then resolves itself to calling the conclusive outcome: a law of nature, laws of mathematics, etc. Science arrives at this conclusion because the outcome becomes consistent, and its behavior is replicated under the same set of circumstances.
Gods are simply omnipotent, omniscient, and advanced scientists who have been observing the exact same conditions and outcomes forever; thus making the conclusions of Their observations, the “Eternal Laws of Heaven and Earth.” Gods do not experiment, having no need to increase Their knowledge. They use these eternal laws to produce the end result of Their desires, which in every case, is to reach the final outcome all laws produce, i.e., balance. This balance is always experienced and recognized by the advanced and eternal human being as happiness.
Modern science has proven on a molecular level that all atoms continue in a state of imbalance and act “radically” until they find their balance. When placed on an earth and given free will to act according to their natures, humans (radicals) seek happiness (balance) and act according to their free will (radically) until they find it. It takes about 7000 years of mortality to find this balance.
The “human experiment,” per se, follows the eternal laws of nature, and will eventually produce the desired result. However, before it does, it must go through the same procedural and customary steps it has always followed to arrive at the same end.
So, if you want to understand life and reality and the truth about why we are here, the way has been given. You can read the book and find out for yourself. It blew me away.
