I've always heard it pronounced Paul-M-Olive...
In Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the B.J. Johnson Company was making a soap entirely of palm and olive oil, the formula of which was developed by B.J. Johnson in 1898. The soap was popular enough to rename their company after it - Palmolive.[1] At the turn of the century Palmolive, which contained both palm and olive oils, was the world's best-selling soap. A Kansas based soap manufacturer known as the Peet Brothers merged with Palmolive to become Palmolive-Peet. In 1928, Palmolive-Peet bought the Colgate Company to create the Colgate-Palmolive-Peet Company. In 1953 "Peet" was dropped from the title, leaving only "Colgate-Palmolive Company", the current name.
Colgate-Palmolive has long been in fierce

I've always pronounced it your way. But I guess on the basis of keeping the peace, what frigging difference does it really make? If you go into the store and ask for the product, if the clerk can tell EXACTLY what you're looking for, then THAT is the way to pronounce it.

properly, regardless of the form you're placing apart the syllables (palm olive or chum mol ive), they sound precisely the comparable while spoken, so i might say it particularly is no longer suitable the way it particularly is taken care of. jogs my memory of my particular "puppy peeve" (no pun meant) of the thank you to pronounce the call of an animal puppy save: Is it "Pets Mart" or "puppy smart" ??? (returned, the two way you variety it out, it sounds precisely the comparable while stated. yet, a minimal of I even produce different people who've this comparable puppy peeve -- "Larry the Cable guy" used this in his comedian tale recurring that I observed on T.V. as quickly as! I laughed at that one!)

I've always pronounced it the way your friend does, and that's how I've heard it pronounced in commercials. But you're right about one thing. It is a pretty useless debate.
