Having my index, middle, and ring fingers crushed in a 300 pound firedoor. The index finger was smashed and broken, I needed 12 stitches. The middle finger was crushed to an inch of repair--if there was any more damage, it would have had to be amputated. Only the skin was holding it on. I got 17 stitches in that. The ring finger was also damaged severely, it was broken in 3 places and I had 14 stitches in there. I had to wait for more than an hour in the ER! It was insane, I was dripping blood all over.
If you think this sounds bad, think about this--this all happened when I was in fourth grade. I was 9 years old.

I used to be a very heavy drinking alcoholic, and for about eight years I just didn't take care of things like I should have.
One day I was chewing some gum and one of my tooth fillings came out. I threw the filling away and resolved to just not chew on that side of my mouth, and started brushing my teeth several times a day and using plenty of Listerine.
Three years later, the tooth cracked. So I knew I had to take care of it. I finally went to the dentist and he said I'd need a root canal and a crown. He also noted that since I didn't have any pain, the nerve must be dead.
Well, when he numbed the area up with novocaine and tried going in with the small brushes to clean out all the gunk, we found out that the nerve was far from dead. The pain was just excrutiating, and I nearly screamed. He tried shooting more novocaine in, but to no avail. So he said the only way to deaden it was to get the novocaine needle down a littel into the opening and just let a few drops fall down, but when the side of the needle rubbed against the flesh it was blindingly painful. He finally said I was just going to have to hang on for ten seconds. So I braced myself and he went in. I've never had molten lead poured in my mouth, but that's what it felt like.
But the novocaine finally got in there, and he rather swiftly did the brush work and cleaned everything out. I was drenched in sweat, and the tooth throbbed for several days afterwards from the trauma.
So if you ever have a filling fall out, don't ignore it.

Either the time when I was a kid & had a bike accident where i flipped over my handles & went face first into the street & slid a little. It all happened so fast I didn't have time to throw my hands/arms out to help catch myself. I ended up bleeding all over, had a lump the size of a goose egg on my forehead & a concussion.
OR
The time I got my FACE closed in a car door!!! The driver of the car (a 2-door) accident parked partially up on the curb so it was at an angle & the door closed on my face as I was getting out of the back seat...a friend had been holding the door at the time but someone distracted her & she let go by mistake. (She felt soooo bad afterwards.) I had to go to the ER & get patched up cause I was bleeding EVERYWHERE. I came out with a bandaged up broken nose (had an alternative to stitches that pulled the gash shut over time), black eyes & looking like I had been in a nasty fight. I've still got an oh so lovely scar across the bridge of my nose to this day.
(Ooooh!! I'm so sorry Swimmer....a couple of my guy friends have had that & I can only imagine the pain after hearing about it from them. One of em had to have surgery it got so bad. OUCH!)

I dislocated the bottom bone in my left ring finger and the doctor had to get it back into place by !SQUEEZING! my finger into the palm of my hand, he held my finger there for 2 whole minutes, the longest and most painful two minutes of my life. My finger hurt enough to move it 1/4 of an inch, but bending it that far....ouwy!

Once was riding a horse, cinch snapped, and I went flying at a high speed sideways into a wall. That and had a bicycle handlebar go through my leg. Didn't go to the doctor for either of them.

Explain to your children that you and your husband are not together anymore. Say that your husband fell inlove with another woman but it wont stop him loving your kids. Explain that hes acting out of character and it was unfair of him to bring your children into a "mum and dad" problem and it was wrong of him. your 12 year old daughter is old enough to know and understand dont go into great detail but do explain that it was "dads" choice to love someone else and you didnt agree so thats where its at? just some suggestions hope you like

It's a tie between my black lab ripping half my scalp off and falling off the side of the steps and hitting my head on a weight bench. Both required stitches, both almost killed me, and both almost got my right eye. I have scars all around my right eye. I give both a 20/10. They both sent me into shock, I passed out from blood loss. My brother found me both times, I feel terrible for him, remembering me laying on the floor bleeding to death. I can't imagine it.
