The heater core is located behind the dash board of your car and is very hard to reach unless you happen to be a dwarf. The previous owner probably bypassed the heater core because it was leaking. If you open the hood, you'll see the back end of the heater core on the left hand side with 2 hose connectors sticking out of it (either 5/8 or 3/4 inch). You can access it from inside the car if you remove the glove box, but you'll need to remove the whole dash board to remove and replace it. A Haynes repair manual will give you step by step instructions.

before installing the new one, make sure the old one isnt bypassed. There should be two hoses from the engine to the heater core, an input and an output. You should be able to see the heater core hose connections protruding from the firewall under the hood. Make sure the hose connections from the engine are not connected together with a single hose, bypassing the core.( there are a number of reasons the core would be bypassed, one of them because of a leak, but, worth a try)

All cars have heater cores. Look for a pair of 1" diameter rubber hoses that enter the firewall a few inches apart on the passenger side of the car under the hood. The hoses are attached to the heater core. You'll have to figure out how to get it out of there. Good luck!

I would suggest that if you have 2 rubber hoses (approx 1/2 inch) entering and leaving the car firewall underneath the hood, usually on the passenger side, then you should have a heater core.

That is simple. It had a heater and someone took it out and did not replace it. Put the one in that you bought and away you go...
