While on the subject, let me share the following:
Some families in India rename themselves on the basis of their profession. This is common among the Parsis, who often have surnames ending with "wala" (also spelled "walla" or "wallah"), meaning someone who engages in a particular activity. Names like Screwala when the person might have sold screws, or Cyclewala (cycle seller) are quite common; one Bollywood actress is named Shenaz Treasurywala
Some of these Walas are: 'Bandookwala', 'Kartoozwala', 'Batliwala', 'Doodhwala', 'Screwala', 'Cyclewala', 'Treasurywala' etc. which are a bit amazing and sometimes hilarious too!
By the way, the name MUHAMMAD is also transliterated (represent a word etc., in the closest corresponding letters of a different script) as Mohammad (in Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan), Mohammed (Arab World, primarily in North Africa), Mohamed & Muhammed (Arab World), Mahommed, Mehmed & Mahomet (Albania), Mehmet (Albania, Turkey). In Latin, it is Mahometus and (Moameth) in Greek. In Chinese, it is written as (Mùh nmòdé). Maxamed in Somalia. In Russia, while the name of Muhammad the Islamic prophet (pbuh) is typically spelled (Mukhammad), as a given name among the Muslims of Russia, the most common spelling is (Magomed). "Muhammad" itself might not be the most common transliteration, but it is the most correct among the most used.
Muhammad is a very popular surname, ranking 4,194 out of 88,799 for people of all ages in the 1990 U.S. Census. According to the sixth edition of The Columbia Encyclopedia (2000), Muhammad is "probably the most common given name" in the world, including variations. It is estimated that more than 15 million people in the world bear the name Muhammad.

Hmm, I have a few...
Chimme- A kid in my sister's class. (rhymes with shimmy)
Rags- My next-door neighbor. Well, his full name is Raghavan but we call him Rags for short.
Krassimir- A kid in my class (he goes by Krassi)
A science teacher at my school named her daughter Joules, because Joules are the units you measure energy in (like how length is in feet or meters, energy is in Joules)
My old English teacher's first name was Julie, and she married a guy whose last name was Juli. It's a good thing she kept her maiden name or else she would've been Julie Juli.
Also, my sister's teacher used to work for a man named Mr. Hog. He named his daughter Ima. (I'm a hog) I'm serious! I'm sure he didn't do it on purpose though...

This is true. A friend of mine who is a social worker had a case where the twin boys were named lemonjello and orangejello pronounced like angelo. I seriously think the mother must have been on drugs to name her children such horrible names.

Many, but one that I think is really strange would be Gwenith Paltrow's daughter her name is Apple Blythe Alison Martin. Seeing, that Apple is a fruit, Martin is a boys name, Blythe I've never heard of, and Alison is the only georgous name there. Is there a reason to call your child that?
Anyway.
:)

And there's a girl I go to school with who's first name is Oninye (O-neen-yay), but everyone calls her Princess (which is just as weird!)
Oh, and Kitty Litter, a news anchor lady on a local station where I live :P
