I could ask the other way: Do people in the USA really don't know Karl May? The famous German writer that made the American Wild West come alive for Germans and many other nations, that made kids play "Indians and whites" in the streets all over the world?

To answer your question: No, I don't know the people you mentioned and I could not care less. I know Bill Gates and the Albrecht brothers and that is enough. Wait, you don't know the Albrecht brothers? The wealthiest Germans alive, who together have a combined net worth equal to Bill Gates? The guys who founded the ALDI retail store chain, the largest retail store chain in the world; the guys that sent WalMart running back home to the US when it tried to branch out to Germany? Why?

Yes indeed. Should we really? Should I name some people you've never heard of?

EDIT: After reading your explanation, I'm not at all thrilled by most business people. They know how to make money but may be superficial. And thet make money at the cost of many others - probably. So? I still don't care...
