A 1974 topo map shows contour lines running through the town at 30 & 50. But there is no scale on the map, so I don't know if thats 30-50 feet or 30-50 meters (100-160 ft) above sea level. Either way, it seems to be low for being that far from the ocean.

That's over 18 miles up. Too high for commercial aircraft so you must be passing over Oregon in the space shuttle.

Zip code 97128. Now that is more down to earth. McMinnville, Oregon's altitude is 161 ft.

Google Earth with Terrain Features Turned on shows the elevation of land beneath the cursor at the bottom of the screen next to the lat-long. The center of 97128 in downtown McMinnville varies around 155 feet.
