i'm pretty sure that i pulled a lower back muscle on the right side tonight when i was cheering. (I'm a cheerleader) it first started hurting when we were warming up our stunts and then later on during the game when i did a toe-touch i think i really pulled it.
Anyone know any fast treatments? I mean being a cheerleader, we dont have second string so it matters if i cant do stuff. I also have a manditory tumble class tomorrow. What should i do!?

Since this is a fresh injury, use of ice and rest is indicated. You can use ice for the first 48-72 hours as this is the initial inflammatory stage. After that, you can switch to a heating pad and begin more aggressive activity. If it truely is a pulled muscle it will go away on it's own. Don't rush off to the chiropractor yet...if done in this inflammatory phase, it will do nothing but make it more inflammed.

Continue with the ice tonight...be sure to do a long warm up tomorrow prior to class...light jogging for 10-15 minutes followed by stretching. Ice after the class. Use a bag of ice wrapped in a towel for about 10 minutes.

Instead of religious tolerance too many mullahs, priests, ministers and whatever else they are called promote the idea that others not in their group are infidels, going to hell, or otherwise bungled and botched. They all have ecclesiastical tyranny and would kick Jesus himself out in the case of Christian churches. Even High Wisdom from somewhere else will get someone excommunicated if they mention it. If it comes from a foreign country everyone will look at the person askance. A sweaty rag preacher or a foaming at the mouth ayatollah is more welcome, also a priest who carefully teaches time worn false doctrine. Many are already organizing their own religious knowledge without association with these places. But others no longer attend and their children are receiving zero moral guidance, the results of which you see every single day. If there iis BOTH no moral guidance AND no education, then you have a REAL problem festering. All groups need REFORM. If they had more truth and sensible instruction perhaps more would attend. The few remaining members include those with little access to education who largely comprise the fundamentalist groups and want to burn the other group's books and maybe even start a new era of religious wars. We cannot get by apart from religion and we cannot easily get by with it. More teachers of truth and tolerance are needed. But there are some large and small groups which are NOT causing the troubles. In the USA there is suppposed freedom of religion. But even here one gets stopped from education, employment and winning office in many places if his religion is not the same as the majority group. It was worse only a few years back and is still terrible in most all other parts of the world. Even worse than here. Tyrannies teach that others are wrong because those who hold power want their own group and doctrines to grow and membership to increase. In this way they have displaced God or Allah Himself. And substituted the precepts of men.

Keep ice on it tonight as well as Icy Hot. Lay down and try not to use that muscle much. Sleep with a small pillow under your lower back for support and lie on your back. Try going to the chiropractor tomorrow morning and getting your back adjusted. It will work wonders.

RICE

R - Rest
I - Ice (or heat) 20m on, 20m off
C - Compression - Ace bandage to keep swelling down
E - Elevation - Above the heart

Thermacare patches--the ones with magnets, are awesome and you can leave them on all day under your clothing. They help keep that muscle relaxed so you feel better.
